Help !!!
When viewing photos on my Windows Vista (with different programs like Office picture, adobe viewer etc) pictures that first appears OK starts to decompose for example they get cut and the different parts get deplaced or one part gets another colour. This happens with new photos as well as with old ones, taken with different cameras or even scanned photos. They now appears like this even on another computer (vista as well), I don't know if they are destoyed now or If I can recover them. Has anyone seen anything like this and what is the problem ?

Start, control..., system, how many ram do you have? If 4 gigs or more, then you might need to update Vista.

Or use this to post your setup here:

4 gigs & SP1 are great. Your problem may lie in the program. Use another program. If another program shows the same symptom, it may be the data (photos). If you don't already have a backup copy of each photo, make a copy now to dvd/cd.

What happens when you view them with Windows Photo Gallery? How about viewing them on XP? What if you upload the pics to Photobucket and then view them from the web? Or download IrfanViewer and see how they look.

i'm having the same problem with vista. it just started about a month ago or so. i have another computer with vista and the issue does not occur on that one. The pictures look fine on the camera. When i use photo gallery or any other photo viewing software, the pictures become distorted after enlarging them. the thumbnailes appear to be ok. i've tested different cameras, and different memory sticks yet the symptoms are the same. this is very frustrating and almost makes the computer unuseable. Help!

For what its worth try this as I had many of the same troubles.

Get a copy of Driver Sweeper ( its free)
Use it until you get to standard windows VGA after booting.
It may take a time or three if you have updated your video drivers, as they will try to revert to previous versions.
Dont worry windows will always give you video.

Once you get the most basic windows video.
Then load your video drivers.

As for the camera pictures (assuming its USB) uninstall the camera.
Then install the software for the camera and then plug in the camera.

USB likes the software before the hardware.
