New AMD core - multipliers and RAM

So I remember that having a fixed multiplier on the Athlon X2 (AM2) created problems not getting the full 800 MHz out of the RAM. What is going on now with these half dividers: are they still not producing the full 800 MHz for RAM or has AMD separated the CPU and RAM multipliers? I want to build a new system and RAM performance is very important since I will be doing many scientific simulations. Thanks.

I haven't seen anything about the multipliers being decoupled. I biggest problem was that AMD went and set half mutlipliers which prevented them from running RAM at full speed since the RAM clock has to be and integer division of the system clock for their integrated bus.

I hope that they have fixed this in K10. Well see in July/August (hopefully).
