CHANGE CLUSTER SIZE

i have winxp pro spII installed,,
i have 40 GB hard drive 3 partition
c:\ for xp & d:\win98
it has formmated in cluster size of 16 kb
i want to change it to 4 kb..

how to change cluster size of partition or of whole disk, without losing any
data,,

Hi,

The NTFS partition should be using 4K clusters, the FAT32 partition should
be using a cluster size that corresponds to the sixe of the volume. See the
chart below:

Partition Size Cluster Typical Amount
Size of Wasted Space
Fat 32
512 MB - 8191 MB 4K 4%
8192 MB - 16383 MB 8K 10%
16384 MB - 32767 MB 16K 25%
Larger than 32768 MB 32K 40%

Not using the default cluster size in a FAT32 partition can cause additional
problems, it is not recommended that you use anything other than the
defaults.
