I had swore away from Nortons since 2003, it seemed every new release just got more and more things added to it that contributed to its use slowing your computer to a crawl, even when dual core CPUs entered the scene the AV protection seemed worse than the disease it was supposed to protect you from.
Customers of mine buying Nortons various so called new and improved versions, once the software was installed it was easy for me to review their new offering and every new version seemed worse than the previous offering from Symantec.
I would not recommend Nortons anything at all, to anyone Period!
I read an article on Nortons Internet Security 2009 and was shocked that of all the AV and Security Suites it was ran against, it took first place, and these guys doing the reviews have been bashing Nortons for years too.
So I took a chance, bought it for myself and installed it on 3 different computers, 2 running WinXP Pro 32bit and 1 running Vista Home Premium 32bit.
I have no complaints what so ever, Symantec has a winner with this NIS 2009!
If you're looking for an AV security suite that will not bog down your computer, NIS 2009 is just what you're looking for, its a pleasure to finally get the protection you need and still be able to use your computer, its almost like its not installed, but it is and it works.
So please read this post before jumping in and bashing how Nortons used to be, this is new territory for Symantec, and totally new approach to handling your security needs and its what we all wanted to begin with.
So in closing Nortons Internet Security 2009 gets 2 thumbs up from me, and I'd give it a third, but I only have 2! Ryan
