After installing gnome3 on my ubuuntu 11.04

I downloaded and install gnome3 on my ubuntu 11.04 and it restarted my computer and from there i can not log in it
only shows the log in page and when i try to log it just wont log in

boot in recovery/single user mode then check your logs.

can also try command 'startx' and see what error comes up.

Hi, Please i am not very good with ubuntu yet, how do i boot in recovery/single user mode

When your computer is first booting up, it should say something like "Grub loading, please wait. Press any key to enter the menu". Whichever key it says to press, press that. Once in the menu, there should be an entry labelled something like "Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.17-10-generic (recovery mode)". Really you're just looking for anything that's called recovery mode. Press enter once you've selected that entry, and it should boot into recovery mode.
