A few months ago, I dual-booted my laptop that came with Vista pre-installed, adding XP. Everything worked fine. Earlier this week, though, I had to reformat the partition with XP on it, and I have been trying to do so. However, there is a strange problem happening whenever I try to install Windows XP on the partition I made for it. When I boot from the CD and try to install XP in the new partition, the installer only sees one big hard drive with no partitions, and this, of course, is no good. I have rebooted the computer many times, but nothing has changed. I am prepared to do every step of the dual-boot process, but this problem has me stuck. Help and assistance would be much appreciated.
Also, here is a screenshot of my partitions:
I would have gotten a screenshot of the XP installer problem, but I didn't know how to.
