Hi all!

I'm new here - looking forward to joining the community! My first question is:

Does a Q6600 overclock the same as an E6600?

I've got a mate who is getting a stable 3g (or was it 3.2g) on a P5N-E SLI, so ... could I get the same OC with a Q6600?

Looking forward to hearing yr experiences...

Cheers

Thanks Nova

I'd be quite happy with 3.0G ... should be possible? That's just over 20%

I have seen many people successfully sending an Intel quad to 3.5GHz, so 3.0 should be quite easy.

you also have to remember that there are twice as many chipynesses to cool, so heat may be a limitation here.

i wish it did... :(
you should be able to acchieve 3.0 on stock cooling though
of course alternative cooling is recommended, because these four cores can get pretty hot
