i got a 500gb western digital that i put in my new build. At vista install, i split it into 150gb and 350gb partitions. Correct me if I am wrong about this but there was no option to format a partition on which you were not installing Vista on so I went ahead formatted the 150gb partition and installed Vista on it, leaving the 3500gb portion untouched. Well, now that Vista booted up, I only see the 150gb partition in Computer but don't see the 350gb portion. I tried to format it using PartitionMagic but I got a "Partition's drive letter cannot be identified error".
any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
what about "computer management>>disk management"? did you try from there? can you see the rest of your hard drive there? you can delete it and create new one from there. what pt magic did you use?
Make sure the drive, which you will be able to see in Computer Management > Disk Management, has a letter assigned, then format it as you wish. I had this problem ages ago..... tho the solution is relatively simple :-)
