Vista Help Please

Hey,

When I boot into vista chkdsk starts immediately and freezes in stage 2 at 37%. I tried to insert the Vista Disk (Genuine) and it loads but stops at the splash screen with the blue and green colors (No words) with the mouse pointer working. Any ideas?

sounds like a hardware issue. you might try running chkdsk on it on a different PC to determine if the problem is the drive or something else. On the face of it this sounds like maybe the hard drive is hosed but don't assume that until you can confirm it, could be the on-board controller or some other hard ware issue.

The vista disk will pause at that splash screen for a LONG time normally and sometimes for a ridiculously long time - let it sit there half an hour or so
