New poster here. I have an older machine (1.0ghz processer) which came with ME. After many problems, I installed a pirated version of XP. After several months of continual slowing down, it has problems booting up. Sometimes it boots only to lock up at the Windows screen. Other times it doesn't boot at all (no response to power-on or restart button). I can power off, then on, and try to re-boot again. My question is: does this sound like a 'pirated' XP problem; or does it sound more like a failing hard drive? Or something else? Thanks in advance.
