Hi all,

I just built a new PC and wanted to install Vista Ultimate x64 with integrated SP 1.

I get a 0xc00000e9 error stating that I unplug a USB device or, I have failing HD / DVD both of which I JUST bought from newegg.

Finally some how I got past than and started installing the OS. Right after finish expanding the files. I hit the 0x80070017 error.

Now I'm back to the 0xc00000e9 error.

I have a stand alone HD so no raid

Thanks in advance

Try unplugging all USB devices. If that fails, try disabling some integrated components from the BIOS, like the sound card or the ethernet.
This error is mostly a conflict between Vista and a device it does not recognize.

Agreed - unplug anything you don't absolutely need. Then go back and add them in later.
