Try unplugging all USB devices. If that fails, try disabling some integrated components from the BIOS, like the sound card or the ethernet.
This error is mostly a conflict between Vista and a device it does not recognize.
Agreed - unplug anything you don't absolutely need. Then go back and add them in later.
