I've just installed Vista, installed all the drivers and stuff, and then noticed something weird - Vista decided to use half my RAM as shared VRAM. Look at the pic below to see what I'm talking about:

How do I disable this?

well, mine says the same thing, except I have over 2 gig of 'shared system memory'. From what I have read this shared memory is not reserved for video, it is there if and when the card needs it, but is also available for other apps to use when it is not being used by the video card. If you have onboard graphics, then that is the proper behavior.

If you have a standalone card, then go into the Bios and make sure it's disabled.

Since you haven't provided system details, I can't say which is which is your case.

well , he's got a Radeon x1950 with 256 dedicated, according to the screenshot, from what I have read about this this is normal, I have it on my system too with an 8800 gts (2046 of shared system ram!), it appears this memory is not set aside and reserved for graphics but it may be allocated if needed, so when it is not being used by the card it is available for other apps.
