Hi all

I have a SONY VAIO laptop with a DVD drive that is faulty - it's impossible to boot from the drive at all. I have copied the contents of the XP CD to d: via USB pen drive and am wondering if I can format c: then install XP from it's location on d: drive?

I hope you can understand what I?m trying to say!!!

Thanks

Unfortunately there is no way to install from another HDD partition. Only option is to buy an external CD drive which is quite cheap these days.

Simplest solution is to replace the faulty DVD drive, they're really cheap these days.
