hi

i have vista ultimate 64 bits, with all newest updates and SP1 installed.

i want to install the 32 bits version, i have it on cd. will it format the disc/will i lose my files?

Why would you want to do that?

But yes - You will have to to a complete, and clean, installation.

not even using the upgrade option on the cd?

The two do not share the same Kernel (core) - There is no upgrade or downgrade option.

If you have the 64 bit installed, why would you need to reinstall?

I'm confused, as it appears there is a lot to the story which is not being relayed. It is difficult to give proper advice when that's the case.
