printer spooler

hi there!

i am shida..i need ur help! i have my new laptop which is HP compaq that used windows vista. i want to install my printer but it failed show this.."processing cannot be continued because the Print Spooler service has been stopped. Restart the computer to start the Print Spooler service and then try again."

can i know what it means? and do you know how to solve this problem??? please guys..help me!!

I looked around some, and see there is a hot fix that applies to XP, but some claim it works in Vista too
