Not sure if this should go in the mobo forum but I'll try here.

Reason I ask is I believe I corrupted my 1st vista home premium 64bit install when the gigabyte mobo driver disk hung twice & I had to manually reboot.

I've got a msg into gigabyte tech support but no response yet.

same trbl with my gigabyte radeon 3850 video card. The disk didn't hang but it didn't install the driver either.

Gigabyte EP45-DS3R mobo
Intel q9550 cpu
8gb mushkin ddr2 800 ram
wd caviar 640gb hd

problem was memory timings/volts.

mushkin tech support to the rescue-and fast.
