I am looking at the sony vpl hs51 projector and also getting the dvdo
hd+ video scaling engine. I want to use the HDMI input only on the
projector. If I do that, I don't really need the video part of an AV
receiver. Is there an AV receiver that only essentially handles audio
(5.1)? Or should I not worry about the fact that I would be
purchasing an av receiver and not using part of it?
Also, am I in for any headaches in dealing with a video processor
separate from the audio processor? The digital audio will run thru
the dvdo, but analog sources will run directly to the av receiver.
For analog audio, will the sound match the video?
My other thought is to wait a little longer and see if there are some
new AV receivers that upscale to HDMI. Then I would have 1 integrated
AV receiver that outputs HDMI.
