You see, I got myself a computer from HP before I learned how to build my own computer. But now I have HP logos everywhere; in computer properties, help and support, welcome center, etc.
I want to make my computer look like HP never touched it. All of those annoying HP things just get on my nerves. I just hate them now...
I tried deleting the Hewlett-Packard Folder in the program files, deleted the ENTIRE HEWLETT-PACKARD FOLDER IN REGEDIT (Inclusing just regular HP folder), and they are still invading my computer. I never paid them to put that **** on my computer.
How do I get rid of every trace that HP ever screwed with my computer?
www.pcdecrapifier.com will uninstall all the crapware and HP utilities and whathaveyou- as far as the logos go you would probably have to replace the .bmp or .jpg files and I'm not even sure if, where, or how as they are probably protected by the OS. . . .probably somebody out there figured out how. I know you can change the startup and shutdown images or at least you used to be able to with XP.

When you purchase a computer from any OEM... be it HP, Dell, Acer or whatever... the will always have some sort of customizations. The logos are there to tell you who to call for support. Your best bet if you're bent on getting rid of any trace of OEM markings is to request an OEM copy of Vista from HP.
(The other option is to download one by nefarious means... since you have a license it would be legal, but it's still not something I highly recommend.
