<< I assume your icons are hidden? If so, right click on your desktop and go to Arrange Icons By >> Show Desktop Icons

But not that way, i know how, and even not using file Types in Folder Option menu, it seems missed executed file for something applications else, I've restarted computer as asually to refresh but not working, a few of file as microsoft word, Easy Media Creator, or Adobe Reader not show up, others can show up icon, i will show you an sample image that i captured:
