Want to install fedora or ubuntu in desktop

I will usually suggest trying out Linux on a VM first just since it's a lower-risk operation (both on install and removal), so unless you need Linux running on bare-metal for some reason (access to some physical, non-USB hardware, etc.) I would gently point you away from dual-booting (at least at first)

I'd suggest this too. I tried linux in Virtualbox for bout a year before making the switch. Finally did at the beginning of the summer and haven't looked backed to windows since.
