I need some opinions. I have a Dell E520 with a Core 2 duo E6300 CPU and 1 GB of DDR2 memory. It has integrated Graphics GMA X3000. I have a little money to spend and I wanted to know if it would be better to get a graphics card or more Memory. I can only get one or the other right now, so I want what will give me the best performance improvement. I do not really play 3D games, just want a fast computer. My graphic choice is XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX 256MB PCIe. ($164.00) My PSU is the biggest reason here, I have a 305 watt PSU and the card only requires a 300 watt. Or I can get a 2 gig kit from crucial for $79.00 to give me a total of 3 GB of memory. So what do you think I should do?

Thanks

Get a new card if you plan on gaming. 1 GB of ram is plenty for now.

I probably should add that I am running Windows Vista Premium and the integrated graphics shares 256 mb of my system memory.

The ram could speed up application loading times by like 5% at max. But neither is really worth it if gaming is not an issue.

Video card if you do any gaming at all, RAM if all you do is surf and type.
