Local affiliates of ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, and UPN are transmitting high
definition signals. Transmitters are located on Mt Bigelow in the Santa
Catalina mountains (10,000 feet about 10 miles north of the city). I'm able
to get a good over-the-air signal with the Zenith Silver Sensor indoor
antenna for each of two Hi-Def TVs.

I'm using DirecTV so can't speak to the hi-def availability on local cable.

I live in North Phoenix, and with my Radio Shack outdoor antenna,
pointed a bit off to the south east, I get all of the tucson HD
digital channels, as well as all the Phoenix ones,,,,

That better than 140 miles away - dont try that with analog TV,,,,

I am sure that the 10,000 feet transmitter towers in Tucson dont hurt
a bit, you should have no problem at all getting them. In fact, the
UPN Tuscon station has a far better picture than the UPN Phx station.

May I ask which antenna you have and how high it is mounted? Thanks.

Well its the biggest combo uhf/vhf antenna that RS sells - I needed
that to get even marginal analog reception for the local stations from
the South Mt antennas less than 30 miles away....

Its mounted about 20 feet off the ground total - its on the roof
mounted to the AC unit...

i use a Samsung SR t 151 tuner...

Oh and use R6 cable as a lead in - I have found that that does make a
difference on long runs.

Kirk, what part of Tucson do you live in. I'm up in Continental Reserve,
North of Cortaro and Silverbell.

I'm using DirecTiVo. Is there an antenna that would attach to the sat dish
to be an easy install for HD here?

Thanks.
