Hi, i want to do a clean install on vista
i have my own copy of vista oem cd.
(i want to clean install because i need a new motherboard with different chip set)
so is these the step?
1)back up
2)pop vista cd in drive( dvd boot first) shut off computer
3) install my new motherboard and plug everything
4) boot up and follow on screen
5) DO NOT PUT 25DIGIT CODE AND UNCHECKED ACTIVATE ONLINE( Am i correct?)
because many thread said don't enter the code and unchecked the activate thing.

Yes, but a misconception about Vista is that reinstall is the only option. Nope, it ain't. I swapped mobo out for another. The only thing I did prior was uninstalling the mobo driver (chipset). Tell me what your current mobo is and I can tell you which one to uninstall.
