Hard Drives shown

I recently finished my build. I have Vista Home premium 64.
I went into computer, and only one of my two hard drives was shown.
I checked the BIOS, and they are both detected. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Have you ever partitioned and formatted it?

Go to control panel>administrative tools>computer management>storage>disk management and see how it shows up there.

I did as instructed, but I do not understand what it means.

Disk 0 Basic 232.88 GB NTFS Healthy System Boot

Disk 1 149.05 GB Unallocated.

You have not partitioned or formatted the second drive. It will not be mountable in Windows until you do... right-click on the Unallocated and select "Create Partition".

I am planning to install Ubuntu on that drive. Will it then show in windows?

No, it won't. Windows can't read Linux partitions on a local drive. I believe there is software you can download to allow Windows to view local Linux partitions (assuming you're using something other than FAT)... but I am not 100% sure about that.
