So for the last few weeks I've been trying to reinstall Windows XP Pro on a group of used Dells that I bought. I'm trying to use my own personal XP Pro installation CD, and it keeps telling me the keys aren't valid. They all have valid COA's, but I think they go with a version of xp that is specific to Dell. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any advice whatsoever? Does anyone no where to get a dell version windows xp cd? I'd rather not have to buy something, since I already own the damned OS. I've been messing with this for a while, and can't seem to find a solution anywhere. Thanks for your time,
Guy
P.S. I'm getting the impression the MS would like us to buy their lousy product twice, and I happen to know that too much was paid for it in the first place.

Pretty much all the earlier Dells came with WinXP Home OEM, unless WinXP Pro was specifically specified, check your Private messages.
By the way is your WinXP Pro installation disk, OEM, or Retail Full Installation, or Retail Upgrade, all three of those take different keys along with the same flavors of WinXP Home?
