Hi, I'm selling my laptop to buy and pay for a new computer but I want to make sure the only thing left on the HD is the OS, like brand new, and that all information ive put on there is gone as though I never owned it. How do I do this?

Is it possible to get it to start up as though it was new?

Thanks

What brand of laptop? Did you get a set of Recovery disks with it?

Its a Dell XPS M1530, Vista 32 bit. Yeah I did, would those help?

Yes, using the recovery disks will set it back to factory-condition.

Ah Cool thanks, I didn't have a disk but the manual told me what to do and I used "Dell Factory Image Restore" to restore to Factory settings. Thanks a lot mate
