Hey,

I'm building a comp for a friend, and I have a copy of vista, but not his serial. Essentially, we get serials through out school so he'll have to fill out a form. In the meantime, is it possible for me to install vista without the serial and the activate/add afterward once his goes through? I remember with XP you had 30 days or so.

Yes, it can be done. Don't enter the number during setup, then once you have the serial you can enter it after Windows is installed.
