Windows 8 Projector Connectivity Problem

I recently upgraded to Windows 8 and I have a Dell 1800MP Projector that will now not connect. I tried to download a driver for the projector but non were available on the Dell or Windows Web Sites. What can I do to resolve this problem?

How do I find the proper video card driver? I have updated all of my drivers to the most recent upgrades.

You probably have the proper driver then. How do you connect the projector to your laptop? Plug the VGA cable in if you haven’t already. Does Windows detect the projector? If not try a DVI or HDMI, if available.
With the monitor connected open control panel/ display/change display settings. Try to get windows to detect a new device.

If nothing else eight should detect the device with a generic driver in VGA mode. If not there could be a more basic issue.

The last 1800MP was shipped in 08. That’s almost five years. Normally manufactures don’t support update software for hardware that old.

Hope you have an old copy of Seven or XP hanging around.
