So I just barely upgraded Windows XP Home SP3 to Vista Home Basic on my whitebox.

My Motherboard is an ASUS M2A-MVP. The Realtek HD Audio drivers worked great in XP - now, nothing in Vista.

I have already gone to the ASUS website, downloaded and installed the newest drivers. Nothing.

In the BIOS the onboard audio is enabled, the front jack is set to AC97 (instead of HD) and it works.

Any idea what's wrong?

In control panel under under Sound is your soundcard showing up and is it properly configured?

In Device Manager under System are their any yellow or red symbols referencing the Audio section, indicating not fully installed?
