All folders became "read only"

suddenly all my folders are read only. even though, I am able to create and modify folders and files.
even when I took ownership over the files, nothing changes when I remove the read only attribute.
I use vista ultimate and I also happened on my 2nd computer with ultimate

I've ran into that if some file inside the folder didn't change over the whole folder wouldn't change its read rights either, check the files inside the folder and see if one doesn't change, and change it manually.

Have you looked in Folder Options to see if anything has been checked or unchecked in there that could cause this, maybe trying retoring defaults will straighten it out.

Uhm I found a sollution its a virus... my scanner took it down together with 2200mb of junk that it had collected from the internet. If ur scanner can't deal with it mail me (roy_the_cowboy@hotmail.com) I will send u a link of a free (trial) scanner that deletes everything.
