long time booting

i have a dual boot system xp/vista64 all of a sudden my computer takes a long time to boot it stays on the splash screen for about 10 minutes before showing me the boot selection screen what could be the problem????
i am using
gigabyte p35ds3l
core 2 duo e6750
4 gigs corsair ddr2 800mhz
bfg 880gts 640mb
western digital 500 gb hd
thermaltake watercooling kit

Try unplugging USB devices other than keyb/mouse.

i installed tune up utilities 2008 and ran it it uncovered lots of errors fixed them and now it seems to be working better
