Ubuntu 11.10 has been released, so far I'm liking it a lot. Installing gnome-shell was a breeze, and didn't break unity this time, and linux kernel 3.0 has my wireless drivers without me having to install them manually :)

Oddly enough, enabling release proprietary drivers on my HD5770M broke unity and gnome-shell, and disabling them again didn't fix anything. I couldn't get post-release to enable at all. Didn't want to bother troubleshooting it so I just reinstalled heh.

Anybody else tried it? If there's already an official discussion thread let me know.

Haha, you caught me posting before breakfast.

I apologise, my brain tends not to work until I eat.

On a side note, I do prefer Fedora for GNOME.

Still feel a little torn between GNOME 2 and GNOME 3 to be honest. I like GNOME 2 because it's easy to use but GNOME 3 is so pretty. ;)

LXDE ftw!
