Ubuntu 11.10 has been released, so far I'm liking it a lot. Installing gnome-shell was a breeze, and didn't break unity this time, and linux kernel 3.0 has my wireless drivers without me having to install them manually
Oddly enough, enabling release proprietary drivers on my HD5770M broke unity and gnome-shell, and disabling them again didn't fix anything. I couldn't get post-release to enable at all. Didn't want to bother troubleshooting it so I just reinstalled heh.
Anybody else tried it? If there's already an official discussion thread let me know.
