In XP, under control panel -> audio -> speaker configuration, it always reverts to Stereo Speakers instead of 5.1. It doesn't matter for most things at all, but it does matter for a lot of games that have no audio options but instead use the default windows settings, so if you don't have it set to 5.1 it only does the normal stereo playback (like Doom3, Crysis, etc). Very irritating to have to go and change it to 5.1 each time I boot up if I think I might play a game and forget to do it later.
XP, service pack 2.
Auzentech X-plosion Cinema 7.1 with latest XP drivers.
Any ideas why windows always sets that little speaker setup back to stereo speakers? It's retarded.
