The program u used was not a driver, its a utility. look under the utilities or programs for the card and it should be there somewhere.

Best,

I wonder if the disk is the same one that came with my X-Fi Fatal1ty ? If it is could some one tell me if it would be legal for me to make an ISO file of it and mail it to the op ? Or I could make a private torrent of it.

Anyway interesting topic (and I think you do need the CD to install the software becouse if you just download everything it will ask you anyway....) I had to dig mine up when I upgraded my machines CPU and mobo for the reinstall.

I know the difference I have the same sound card. I know that the software that comes with the card has the cool interface and you can adjust many features and to include more of it. The driver they posted in the mainsite does not show and adjust the features.

You're gonna have to ask them (Creative) about the software cd.

I'm pretty sure that the utilities that you want, the ones that came on the CD, are NOT downloadable. ...and the CD's utilities don't work in Windows Vista.

I see folks providing you links to download the drivers, though that's not what you need, as has been posted above. I'm not sure why Creative makes it impossible to efficiently get those utilities. Perhaps someone would be willing to make a copy of it and ship it to you if Creative won't allow you to purchase a copy. 8O

I am pretty certain that for the purpose of copying the ISO and sending it to the OP are completely legal as you are in effect giving them a backup copy of software that they already owned.

Plus it is probably freely available for download, you are just giving the OP a more direct route to getting the same thing :)

The programs you need for really adjusting your SC are NOT directly downloadable AFAIK. I've got the Audigy 2 ZS and the same problem. I cannot calibrate the speakers without the CD... So if anyone knows an alternative download location that would be really appreciated...

What others are saying is right creative don't have the files for download on their site and you do need the CD. Creative's own forums are filled with people that have had the same problem if you do a search there you'll find links to the installation CD ISO's that other members have put up.

I fear this is a very grimly calculated strategy by creative. Once people lose their CD they are not longer able to adjust certain critical settings for their SC. In my case the speaker calibration which is very important to me because I have a fairly asymmetric 7.1 setup. Not nice... But thanks jajig for the tip with the creative forums... I am so used to finding the right solution here on toms that I even forget to lookup the manufacturers page. Or is that because I doubt I'll find useful info there? Sad, sad sad...
