Reports: Foxconn eyes clone case market; Asustek may acquire case maker
Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry) reportedly is moving part of its case production to an affiliated company and Asustek Computer is rumored to be in talks with case manufacturer Everskill Technology, according to a local Chinese-language newspaper. Real-time translation of television, phone or web sites could come in a few years if the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has its way. Its funding the Global Autonomous Language Exploitation (GALE) project that will aim for 90 to 95 percent accurate translations of Arabic or Mandarin by 2010.
