I just completed my first PC Build. I am using Vista64.

I am trying to install a Security program that was on my XP Machine.

After transferring all the files to my new Vista machine I unzipped the 3 files using WinRar.

When I started to begin the install I recieved this error message...

Symantec AntiVirus Client Installer Information
The win32 version of the installer can't install Symantec Client Security on a 64 bit OS.

Does anyone know a work around? Or am I screwed?

I will also post this in the Software/Security Forum

Sounds like you need a 64 bit version of Symatec. Some 32 bit security software will not run on 64. I don't think the current version cares but an older version might.

Either that or you could try running the installer 'as administrator' but I doybt it.

I have no idea about upgrading.

If you don't want to spend $ you could try either Avast or AVG, both have free 64 bit versions IIRC.
