hello everyone

got a question for ya? a buddy of mine is buying a laptop and he doesn't want to spend much on it so the laptop he is getting has windows vista basic on it. my question is if he was to want to reinstall vista on his laptop could he use the same cd key for his version of basic for another version like vista home premium or business?

the key would only work for vista basic, he'd have to purchase and "upgrade" key before he could use any higher version of vista.
