hey guys been researching all over the net for a friend of mine. he is going to get a dell laptop but it comes standard with windows vista basic( no XP option) but it offers an upgrade for Vista home premium.
so he is an average PC user that only does Internet and e-mail. nothing advanced and is also going to use it to play the occasional DVD movie. so for this type of user would the upgrade to home premium be worth it?
He won't get Aero, the fancy vista interface features, that's the main thing for him probably. Otherwise basic is fine.

Reg hack for that? Did not know that. Cool.
There's another hack to get 'dreamscene' on non-ultimate machines but it was a PITA to do.
