HUH?
May 21, 2007 3:51:44 PM

Yeah u need to skim through the forums to get info on the two cards. Also do some research over to the internet to get an idea of ur needs.

With a 19" montinor an 8800 gts should do but still u have to find on ur own as well.

Cheers

For general gaming use, an 8800GTS would work fine for a 19" monitor. Of course, if you have the money, an 8800GTX would allow you to play future games at higher frame rates.
May 21, 2007 4:14:21 PM

is this a joke? If your monitor isnt widescreen your max res is 1280 x 1024. Meaning a GTX is a waste of money because you can't take full advantage of higher resolutions
May 21, 2007 4:14:56 PM

If you monitors max resolution is 1280x1024 then the 320mb 8800 gts is all you really need right now and is over $200 cheaper than the 8800gtx. By the time games come out the 8800gts can't play effectively they will be making the next generation DX10 Cards that make the 8800GTX look like a power hungry slow piece o crap.
May 21, 2007 4:23:53 PM

my 19 inch samsung does 1600x1200 @60 hz but in answering the original poster i'm going with the evga ko superclocked 640 gts same price as the stock 640 gts on the egg $349 after rebate
May 21, 2007 4:27:36 PM

my revoltiion is 1280 * 1024

you have right

so i must buy the 320 mb 8800 gts;;

the 640 mb and 720 is for 20 and 22 monitors;;

and when you mean that the the newst games comes with 320 mb;
what you mean;;

and why the games dont come out with 640 and 720 mb;;

so the 320 mb gts is the best market for bying card 8800;;
May 21, 2007 4:32:54 PM

yes you can play the current newest games in a good resolution with 8800gts320mb since you'll be playing at 1280*1024

Yea, the GTX will last longer, because it's more powerful.

Any 8800 would work on a 19inch monitor fine though.
May 21, 2007 6:42:07 PM

If you can afford it, get the GTX. Otherwise go for the GTS.
May 21, 2007 7:22:38 PM

Until you hit a resolution of 1600x1200 with a monitor their is no performance hit in going with a 320mb 8800 gts vs a 640mb 8800 gts. They are in the process of going to 65nm fabrication on vid cards this year. miniturization will allow the same performance of a video card with less power draw. This will also open the door for the next generation DX10 cards to become a reality. Expect next gen cards to be on the 65nm process. Current cards are either 80nm or 90nm process.

Systems are unreliable, tech support is rude, and they won't replace a defective video card.

You were warned.

May 22, 2007 7:48:25 AM

Your monitor is 19" , only does 1280*1024.

8800gts320mb is good enough to play all games on max settings.
8800gtx is better, will still play the same(MAX) on 19" monitor

get the 8800gtx if you want to play next years games.
get the 8800gts if you want to save money.
May 22, 2007 7:59:16 AM

Res < 1280x1024 = Most cards
Res = 1280x1024 = 8800GTS 320MB
Res > 1280x1024 = 8800GTS 320MB OR HD2900XT
Res = 1600x1200 = 8800GTS 640MB OR HD2900XT
Res > 1600x1200 = 8800GTX 768MB
Res > 1920x1200 = 8800 ULTRA

(Just guessing here but tried to recommend a resolution that would be overkill for the card, please correct me if im wrong.
And tried to leave out as much english as possible but still try to make a point.)
May 22, 2007 9:46:48 AM

my monitor is lcd

is the philips 190x6

the resloutions are Res = 1280x1024 = 8800GTS 320MB
Res > 1280x1024 = 8800GTS 320MB OR HD2900XT
Res = 1600x1200 = 8800GTS 640MB OR HD2900XT
Res > 1600x1200 = 8800GTX 768MB
Res > 1920x1200 = 8800 ULTRA

so for my monitor which is 19 size
which 88000 must i take;;

8800 gts 320 mb;
8800 gts 640 mb;
8800 gtx;;

can you help me please;

PHILIPS

Could not find a single page about this product in english.
But it says it got a resolution of 1280x1024.
So id say a 320Mb minimum or to be safe a x2900xt or a 640MB, up to you or your budget.

EDIT: Beware, really slow loading page.

May 22, 2007 10:37:36 AM

so must i take

Res = 1600x1200 = 8800GTS 640MB OR HD2900XT

No, i would say a 8800 320MB is enough and a HD2900XT or a 8800 640MB is a little more then you need.
If you buy a bigger res. screen then a GTX might be the way but not with what you got.
May 22, 2007 10:57:41 AM

so for my philips
'

i must take 8800 gts 320 mb or

8800 gts 640 mb;; am i corect;;;

320;
640;
740;

can you help me please;;

because if i buy one 8800 i must know which 8800 is for my monitor;;

can you help me please;;
May 22, 2007 11:38:15 AM

for your monitor philips size 19 is 8800 gts 320 good enough. The higher the res on your monitor the more ram is needed on your card. If you want your card to last for a long time buy a gtx but as i said 320 gts is enough and 640 is gonna last longer and you can still save some money. Simple: 320 good , 640 better but not needed , gtx if you have too much money.
May 22, 2007 12:21:58 PM

You can buy 8800gts 320mb or 640mb or 8800gtx. They will ALL work with your monitor. Size is not important. People are only trying to say that with your monitor at the 1280x1024 resolution you will not see a difference in speed between the 320mb and 640mb GTS. GTX will be faster, but not because of the memory. Also in current games the speed difference between GTS and GTX may not be large enough, but games that come out in 2008 and 2009 may show a bigger difference. So if you have the money buy the GTX.
May 22, 2007 12:30:25 PM

WHAT YOU MEAN

THE games that come out in 2008 and 2009 may show a bigger difference. So if you have the money buy the GTX.;;;

IF BUY 8800 GTX WILL I SEE A DIFERENCE WITH MY MONITOR WHICH IS 19 SIZE;

IN THE NEWEST PC GAMES;; UNTIL 2009;
May 22, 2007 12:34:20 PM

Yes, you will see a difference. Especially in the newest games.
May 22, 2007 12:35:02 PM

CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE;;
May 22, 2007 12:35:10 PM

Sorry, but we can't predict the future, if you want to buy today what is good enough in 2009, i can only say that the 8800Ultra are the closests.

If we knew what you meant maybe we could be more help to you.
May 22, 2007 12:39:46 PM

IF I BUY THE 8800 GTX

WHAT DIFERENCE I WILL SEE IN THE NEWEST GAMES;;

IN THE COLORS;

IN THE PIXELS;

EXAMPLE I HAVE ONE MONITOR WHICH IS 19 SIZE OK;;
AND I BUY 8800 GTX
WHAT DIFERENCE I WILL SEE IN THE NEWEST GAMES;

BECAUSE YOU TOLD ME THAT 8800 GTX IS ONLY FOR 20 SIzE SCREEN
AND MORE

CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE;;

You will only see a difference in speed. Not in colors, not in pixels. You have one minitor which is 19 size and you buy 8800 gtx you will see a speed difference in newest games. 8800gtx is for any size screen.

sorry for bad english... I just couldn't resist myself ;)  it kind of reminds me of Borat
May 22, 2007 12:49:16 PM

Ok kid. buy the best you can find you wont regret it, it has the best picture, performance and will last the longest time, and you shod be able to play all the way too 2008 then buy another one and sli them.
May 22, 2007 12:55:20 PM

SO IF BUY THE GTX 8800

IT WILL HAVE BETER PICTURE

SPEED AND PERFORMANCE;;

AM I RIGHT;;

BUT WILL IT HAVE VERY NICE PICTURE IN MY MONITOR 19 SIZE;

AND IF I PUT ONE GAME MORE THAN 1280 RESOLUTION

WILL IT PLAY IN MY MONITOR 19 SIZE;

Most games will not let you set a resolution higher than 1280x1024.
It will have a very nice picture on your monitor.
May 22, 2007 1:04:08 PM

BUT 1280 * 1024

SO TO BUY 8800 GTX;;

OR 8800 GTS 320 MB;;
May 22, 2007 1:07:04 PM

THE RESOLUTION 1280 * 1024 IS NOT GOOD RESOLTION

IF I PLAY THE NEWEST GAMES WITH 1280 * 1024

WILL BE GOOD PICTURES AND RESOLUTIONS;;
