I am still running xp 32 and 64bit on my pc's however my bro has Vista and he explained it asks repetitive questions when opening up simple stuff like word, etc, " are you sure you want to perform this action" it will ask this twice, there is a way to shut off these annoying repetitive questions at the moment he is only concerned with this query, simple instructions are appreciated. :D

Is there any way of removing the initial UAC check and systray popup / red shield?

That was my question, and i think i googled the answer xD

Anyone use this? I am the only user on my PC so would be on Admin login as default. seems it would solve my source of irritation.

Just know that the real purpose of UAC is not to keep you from damaging your system (or to annoy you for no purpose) but to keep bkg or dive by apps from silently installing themselves and making changes to the system - once you have your system set up you really don't see the pop ups all that often.
