I tried to do a clean install of vista on my new system and it tells me that a CD/DVD driver is missing and I have to find it.
Ive looked through all the drivers I have but none of them seem to be the one its looking for.
Can Someone help me?

My setup is:

MSI K9A2 Platinum Motherboard
4GB Corsair 800MHz RAM
EVGA 9800GT
Xigmatek Cooler
CoolerMaster Real Power 650W
Samsung 22X DVD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6827151173

Im confused .
Isnt the cd in the drive already?

Go into the bios and see if they detect the drive and if so change the boot order to cd then HDD. reboot and the install sould take off from there.

the cd is in the drive and the boot order is alreadt established
this message comes up after it prompts me for info like the keyboard interface.

The only thing I can see being the problem from those links is the firmware for my dvd drive.
How do I update my drive with the firmware?
Can I just set it as the driver to download when it asks me to find the driver?

I was looking at the flat install. copy the files over and install then you can delete that directory.
your drive isnt the problem. Once vista is loaded it will see it with no trouble.

I cant seem to get anything to work
Can this work though:
Can I do a clean install with ubuntu and then install vista from ubuntu?

Reply to Tyrannotitan

can you copy the disk on another computer?
It may just have been messed up somehow.

When you try the flat install what happens?

I got it working guys. Installed an IDE DVD drive from my old Dell and booted from that drive and it worked without any problems.

Thanks for all you guy's help I really appreciate it.
