Hi, I recently built a system using an Asus Maximus II Mobo. It came with a SupremeFX X-Fi PCI audio card. I am using XP Pro 64-bit that included SP 2 on install. My problem is that the drivers that came with the CD for the mobo are not working. When trying to install the audio card driver, I receive an error message, "HDA Audio Bus Required", ending the install. I looked online and asked windows for the fix for this problem, most of which pointed to the hotfix kb901105. However, when I run this hotfix, I receive the error message "Setup
has detected that the service pack version of this system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update."

Other proposed solutions were KB888111WXPSP2 and kb835221. For KB888111 I get the error message "This KB888111WXPSP2 is for a different hardware platform.", and for kb835221 I get error message "Setup could not find the update.inf file needed to update your system."

After reaching these dead-ends, I found a few forum posts on various websites that had the exact same problem as me, however all of them were advised to try one of the options mentioned above and none of them were resolved.

So far the best explanation I have gotten for what is going on is that kb901105 is a fix for any XP Pro 64 earlier than SP2, which would explain the error message. Apparently, there are no fixes created to support this problem for SP2. I thought I might be able to roll back to SP1 to install the drivers and then update back, however I have found that if SP2 is integrated with the installation of the OS, you are unable to roll back.

The forum post that I found most useful was this: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=160952

If anyone has any idea on how to solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated as I have spent countless hours trying to find a solution.
