The laptop i'm using is a HP DV6275US. Intel Core 2 Duo 1.833, Nvidia GeForce Go 7400, Broadcom integreated wireless card. This being said. It originaly came with Windows Vista Home Premium. A
lousy piece of software in itself. The wirless throughput when using Vista was as expected when
testing with speedtest.net, right around 15800kb/s. The laptop is now successfully running
WinXP Pro without any problems at all (i got all the drivers straight from HP) except one.
The wireless throughput has been cut in more than half. It can now only achieve
a maximum speed of 5950kb/s as tested with speedtest.net. Numerous fixes have been attempted
with no affect on it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I finally fixed it. I used a program called TCP Optimizer. see this link: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php Unbelieveable difference now.
The latest test just showed the download speed at 16543kb/s.
