question about ADSL

Just got ADSL installed using a fastEthernet PCI Card and a Router (SpeedStream 5600 - Efficient Network). It works fine but I have to format my hardrive (because of new hardware)...
My question is: will it be necessary to configure the Router again? (the job was made by the Telephone Company staff) and obviously I am no expert at all.

It appears that you have an external router from the sounds of it. You wouldn't have to re-config the router (the windows re-install doesn't affect any peripherals as far as their configurations go). You might have to re-set up windows though to see the router, but you should write down all of the settings you currently have, and it shouldn't be a problem.
