LOST PASSWORD!!!

Can anyone help?!?! Have a laptop running vista and have lost the password for it!! cant get in to laptop without it so cant change it or set up new account. can get in to system setup at boot up etc but that's it, have tried safe mode etc which works on xp but no joy. No longer have the boot up disc so that's not an option, tried downloading a program that's meant to get you in but no joy, please please can any1 help?!?!

is this a home or work laptop?
if its work - give it back to them to fix for you.
if its home - try every password you have ever used or thought about

when you say you couldnt get into safemode - was that because you couldnt get it to load or could get it to load but couldnt get into it?
