So I got a review copy of Mac OS X Snow Leopard to try out, and since like the rest of you I'm not really into Mac stuff, I get it to my smug Mac-loving friend. Here's what he had to say, using the OS on the first 13.3" Apple Macbook White:

Some initial thoughts on snow leopard:

-Did not notice much aesthetic difference from leopard but the interface does seem a bit ‘snappier’. This is pretty apparent when using cover flow to browse through files.

-Did not notice any speed differences in starting firefox.

-No noticeable lag whatsoever using the brush tool in photoshop.

So far that’s all I can say for now. Didn’t get enough time with it

Have any of you used Snow Leopard? Don't worry, we won't kill you :D

So it's the Windows 7 of OSX? Snappier but not a great deal different. I like the DVD cover though :D

I know what you mean, and same here... I may be mistaken, but is this low-priced release a reaction to Windows 7 or something, or are Mac OS X upgrades really that cheap?

When you pay $2k for mediocre hardware you want to hope the software is cheap!

Well, should make Hackintoshes even more affordable (obviously).
