Sorry about posting yet another 'system hang' thread. But I figured it was better to start my own thread than to 'hijack' someone elses. Just my way of thinking.
My case does seem like the others, but I note somethings different. I don't have scanners or printers connected to my computer.
Also the hang seems to appear mid-startup inside windows. I get most of the systemtray all icon and wallpaper. (I use webshots) and even the wallpaper can change during the 'hang'. I can start minesweeper during the hang. I can close all programs in systray that I don't need. And I can call up the taskmanager and eliminate all the annoying processes that I don't need. (Processes I close this way, is fx bloatware for my cellphone, I don't touch things labelled 'system'!)
So at first glance everything appears to work fine, except I can't start firefox or IE, possibly other programs too. But so far I've only noted these two. And I can't start them untill MSI-update manager fails.
I suspect my MSI update manager to be the cause for this and I'm fairly sure of it but I can't base it on anything solid. It comes up with some error messages saying 'service wasn't started' and its not untill those appear, that I'm able to use my system again. The msi update manager has always come with this message. But its not untill a few days ago it took it so long to accomplish nothing.
I'm gonna try and download the newest version and contact msi support. But if you guys have other suggestions I'd VERY much like to hear. As I just might be wrong in assuming its MSI update manager.
