I brought up task manager the other day on Vista n realized that it only showed 2 cores instead of 3
I have an AMD Phenom X3 8450
Does that mean Vista is only using 2 cores?
Also Microsoft has a hot fix to correct this issue but it didnt work
Is there a solution to this?

it depends also on your BIOS, if the BIOS of your motherboard doesn't support the x3 it may just show only 2 cores
Its hard to know w/o knowing the rest of your hardware, esp. your motherboard
Download the free program CPU_Z and see how many cores it lists
