Motherboard:GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 $129.99
GPU: BFG Tech GeForce 8800GTS 640MB $369.99 $30 MIR)
PSU: PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W $149.99
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 $225.90
Ram: Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) $214.99 ($85 MIR)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB $79.99

Overpaying for RAM, MIR rebates don't always come.
Get some Gskill RAM.

Maybe add a Zalman cpu cooler.

Go with a SATA DVD, looks alot cleaner.

That ram was cheap but has no gone up. I'd change it out for some G.skill DDR2-800 with the black heat spreaders. They'll clock just as high and higher than the rated Crucial ones for a cheaper price.

I would get an after market heat sink if you plan on overclocking, which by what memory you plan on getting it looks like you are.

For a heatsink i'd recommend ZEROtherm BTF90 92mm

it's a good price for really good cooling, but if you want even better cooling go with a thermalright ultra 120 and a scythe s-flex fan.

Yes I do have the OS. I already own XP Professional. People have recommended different cooling, hasn't the Arctic Freezer 7 been received positively?

looks like you are set to go. The only complaint around here is that many places mark up the AF7 too crazy prices. It will cool your CPU just fine.
