Still in the blue screen section of the setup.

2 brand new 320GB sata HDs from seagate,
1 100% legit copy (from newegg) of windows xp (sp2).

I format (quick or full, both fail) with NTFS 15 gigs for a boot partion. The format goes fine, then it tries to copy system files so it can install and it hangs on a different % every time. I've tried to install on both drives.

I've also disabled IDE

mobo: MSI p6n diamond.

I could really appreciate some help.. this has been frustrating me for about 2 hours now :/.

:D Heya!
is the Sata Channel of your MB, just to be sure, connect an ide one, and install windows on that one, when in windows, try to copy large files on the sata disk, you will see that it will dissapear and reconnect.-
If that happens, RMA your MB

GL

Max.-

I found the problem.

It was my memory!

Stock it runs at 1066 FSB, which means I either had to clock it down or my mobo up. I tried clocking it to the mobo, but the bios only allowed me to go *1* mh at a time...

There was an option in the bios to "link" the memory and the mobo FSB which allowed the mobo to regulate my memory in such a fashion to create a more stable environment.

This worked!!

Hopefully this will help out other people that might have the problem
